A2: Autumn Affirmation

RobinsTreeI planted an Autumn Brush Maple, a few years ago, outside of my office window at home. I noticed this year, with all the spring rain and cooler temps in Denver, that it has really grown. The neighbor even noticed how much taller it is this year. The tree is gorgeous this fall.

This makes me think about how much affirmation we provide to each other in our work environments.

Of course, some of us need more than others; however, we all appreciate a kind word or an acknowledgement from our manager or coworkers. For me, it is sometimes easier to begin analyzing how to make something better rather than acknowledging how wonderful it is in the moment.

Let’s take a moment. Look around us at the amazing work that is being accomplished and provide a considerate word or a note to someone. We’ll be amazed at how much someone will grow and transform if we cultivate their confidence and work through affirmation.
