In voice over you may get a request for a “real” voice or a “real” person. It’s kind of ironic that you’d have to ask a real person to be “real,” isn’t it? It occurs because it is so easy to be fake and to be hidden. We can hear what fake sounds like in others and thus… yep! Others hear it in us.
Being real starts with being willing to be present and open – being brave enough to show up. Next, it’s about releasing physical tension so our breath can flow. Finally, it’s about letting our voice ride on the exhale.
Willing, releasing and letting.
No force.
Being real is easy – if we willingly release and let it flow.
