Rehearse, Practice, Run It

So, it helps to practice. Got it. But what’s most helpful?

  1. Rehearse, Practice, Run it! - By Hilary Blair, CEO & Lead Coach of ARTiculate: Real&ClearTalk it – out loud – let your tongue practice wrapping around the words and phrases.
  2. Walk it – get into it – let your body feel what it’s going to be like to be involved in the presentation or meeting.
  3. Imagine it – once you’ve talked it and walked it –  imagine it going really well in all its nitty gritty detail.

How much time?

Use short snippets of time throughout the day and/or week.

Don’t feel burdened by having to rehearse for an hour or such.

Talk in the car, while walking, in the shower, in your office, etc.

Read it?

Write out your thoughts/speech/intro/etc – and then pull it into bullets. Practice different bullets – what word do you need to trigger the whole thought? Color coding can often work really well.

Memorize?

Know your entrance and your exit lines. And then trust your bullets.

Rehearse – practice – run it – and then… Enjoy! Dive in! Share yourself and your information.
